John Hamerick

John Hamrick is a bit of a legend in these parts. A former school teacher from West Virginia, John moved here 30 years ago and started a real estate and land development company.

After several years of courting, he convinced Crescent—the real estate arm of Duke Energy—to give him exclusive rights to sell their Lake Keowee property. Crescent Resources uses their own sales teams to sell properties in other parts of the county. John showed them how a local real estate team could do as well—better—than the corporate group.
